Eve’s Confession
I did it.
scrutinizing its treacherously alluring serpentine spirit—
I said I’d do it,
and so,
I sensually seduced the succulent scarlet sin
—for you
I did it to feel—to choose,
to create righteous humanity and wicked humanity and moral ambiguity.
so–life, love and the pursuit of happiness—
would be worth it.
Not so that you can persecute my thoughts
and pervert my body with demoralizing glances
and treacherous command
Not so that you can detain my soul
and rule mater over my choices
and silence my voice
—all because
you blame me for something
I absolutely and undeniably did on purpose
From scarlet and crimson virtue,
and manifested in love—passion—anger—fight
Free will is my gift.
I did it.
so that we could love, phenomenally!
and I will never apologize.
