On The Road

On the road

I’m just a girl

and her will to survive

On the road

My thunder thighs

get me to mile 10, mile 20, mile 26

On the road

My soul sings

and I fight what tells me to stop

On the road

Impossible is nothing but a dare

and courage is moving one foot in front of the other

ONE

STEP

AT

A

TIME

On the road

My imperfect body becomes perfect—

perfectly in rhythm with my mind and soul

On the road

I am slow and steady

but nobody can tell me I’m not good enough

Because I always finish

—and good enough is all I have to be.

You are beautiful - body and soul. Keep running and keep writing.
