All we need is LOVE!

The beginning of the movie "Love Actually" is more than simply endearing. It is not an optimists viewpoint or a sappy line to open the door for a sappy movie to follow...it's just well said.

"Love actually, is all around".

This I believe; that humans are utterly incapable of knowing the infinite abyss of love just resonating, permeating, and saturating the universe around us.

Love is the single organic act left on this planet. It turns people's lives around and gives us a reason to live.

Being blessed by the love of the universe is an incredibly unique and awe inspiring gift. Revel in it. Whether you feel the love from your family members, your partner, your friends, your work, your cat or dog, your fellow grocer....whoever or whatever....absolutely enjoy it and remember that what you are feeling is only a miniscule amount compared to what we are capable of giving and receiving when it comes to love.

We take it for granted, we abuse it, and we become cynically charged, blaming all our frustrations on love, or lack thereof. If we really look, however, there is never a lack of love. Sure there is broken love, unrequited love, love that lacks full trust, but there is never absent love.

I am not an innocent bystander in the 'advocates for i hate love' club. I have had my heart broken more deeply than I could even have imagined happening to anyone. Yet, I do not feel any less confident in the power of love. My Aunt told me once, that we never want to have a whole heart anyway, that is not what love is. When we encounter difficulty and when we feel broken and useless, a hole is made in our heart. With each hole that is made, more and more light is then able to shine through. And the more light that shines through our heart, the more love we are able to share and feel.

Love not only gives an individual a reason to be, but it cures disease, feeds the hungry, clothes the poor, and recognizes the humanity in each and every heart. Love actually, is all we need.

I love this, actually. The more people you give your heart to the bigger your heart becomes. Love is the one thing you have more of by giving it away.
